Monday January 28, 2013: Hot, Bright and Sunny
The weekend was the same as today and I've managed to get out to the beach for a few hours every day - my tan is coming back! I was able to swim a bit each day, which is unusual for this time of year. Normally the waves are too big and the current too strong, but in the past few days the ocean has been calm. There was a surf competition at Beach Break in Cocles. I heard the waves were bigger there. They would have had to be or the competition would have been called off.
The weather in Costa Rica’s Caribbean is unique to the country. Rainy season is November - January. The rest of the year has sun and rain - mixed. It can get hot in the summer but here at Hidden Jungle Beach House the ocean breeze and jungle shade keeps us cool. I live in Puerto Viejo, on Costa Rica’s south Caribbean coast. In November 2011 I opened a jungle guest house, where I live and write this blog. Here you’ll find the weather and more.
